Is it Time for New Orthotics?

Orthotics are a wonderful way to help realign your posture and gate. They are digitally scanned, measured and fitted to your own feet. They correct imbalances and cushion your step making walking and running easier on not just your feet, but on every joint in your body that absorbs impact.

When you first get your orthotics it is recommended that you wear them only 3 hours at a time at first in order to allow your body to adjust to them. When worn right away for a full day you will often experience soreness as if you had worked out rather hard. Your legs may ache for the rest of the night while you try and rest.

Once your body becomes accustomed to them the amount of support and comfort they offer is amazing. If you had previously been having foot, knee or even hip pain you are very likely to notice it is simply not present any longer.

If you already have orthotics but are starting to experience foot pain, hip pain, lower back pain or knee pain again, your old orthotics may be to blame. If it has been longer than 2 years, especially with constant use they can wear down. This normal wear and tear throws your alignment off – much like a car with worn down tires. It’s not just bad for the wheels but for the entire alignment of the car itself.

If you are in the Fort Myers area and in need of some relief, the office of Dr. Jason Kaster, D.C. would love to fit you for a brand new pair of orthotics and get you moving the way you are intended – Pain-FREE!
