Have a headache? – We can help!
Getting the proper treatment for headaches can be as simple as spinal manipulation. According to studies, this method can help treat tension headaches and migraines that originate in the neck.
How do you deal with a headache?
Many reach automatically for the bottle of headache reliever. The truth is that may mask the symptom and the pain. Medication is a valid band-aid but if you want to get to the root of the problem and preventatively help stave off any future onset of headaches, chiropractic may just be your answer.
In 2001, a study at Duke University Evidence-Based Practice Center found:
For people suffering from tension headaches, spinal manipulation can be an effective treatment. It can reduce pain and improve the quality of life.
In 1995, a study in the Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics found:
Spinal manipulation can be an effective treatment for many types of headaches. It can provide patients with sustained and long-lasting relief.

How Can Chiropractic Relieve Headaches?
Dr. Kaster has undergone extensive training to help his patients in many ways – not just back pain. He knows how tension in the spine relates to problems in other parts of the body, and he can take steps to relieve those problems.
To address your headache, Dr. Kaster may do one or more of the following:
Evaluation (looks at ergonomics, lifestyle factors, food allergies, and postural complications).
Treatments (ischemic compression, strain counter-strain, massage, ultrasound therapy, interferential current therapy, mobilization, adjustments (Spinal manipulation helps relieve paraspinal musculature/zygapophysial joint tension and adhesions that occur to allow improved inter-segmental motion and decrease nociception), and specialized directed physical therapy-based exercises). It has also been shown that decompression therapy can do wonders to relieve pressure and subdue headache pain. We have the most state of the art spinal decompression in SWFL! http://drkasters.com/drx9000/
Manipulation Under Anesthesia
Patients that suffer from cervicogenic headaches and who have tried conservative chiropractic care should consider manipulation under anesthesia (MUA). The MUA procedure has helped resolve my patient’s headaches 90% of the time on average.
Whatever the cause of your headache, there is no reason to simply live with and deal with pain.
