As the temperature rises our desire for more hydration becomes apparent. Not only do we find ourselves drinking more water, we also seem to crave fruit! Many fruits are ripe and ready this time of the year. We love them, but how much do we really know about them?
Every food holds health benefits. We thought you might find it interesting to see what your body is craving and why.
Raspberries – Raspberries have antioxidant properties. They contain gallic acid, quercetin, and Vitamin C. All help with heart, circulation, age related decline, and even cancer! They are high in fiber and low in calories and sugar and have been shown to help prevent diabetes.
Strawberries – These beautiful red berries are a great source of potassium and manganese. They have shown promise in preventing heart disease, stroke, and even cancer. They may help regulate blood pressure and alleviate constipation.
Blueberries – Blueberries are amazing. They have been touted as helping improve mental health, aiding digestion, helping with a full feeling leading to successful weight loss, can help manage diabetes, give you lower blood pressure readings, and even better skin quality!

It can lower inflammation and oxidative stress, help relive sore muscles and joints, and keep you hydrated all while helping your heart!
Citrus – Citrus fruits help boost the immune system and are an amazing source of fiber. Low in calories they are a treat that can help reduce formation of kidney stones when eaten regularly. They also have been shown to help fight cancer and other degenerative diseases.
