Could Food Sensitivities Could be Unknowingly Tanking Your Health?

If you just don’t feel well – yet you eat healthy, work out, get sunshine and fresh air, hold a regular sleeping schedule, and take vitamins, you may be totally perplexed.

It is very common. The thing is that even if you eat a healthy balanced meal plan, what is healthy for one person may be irritating and cause inflammation in another. Food allergies and sensitivities are and have been on the rise for years now thanks to the introduction of GMO foods, pesticides, and other toxins in our environment.

How do you know if you are sensitive to foods?

At Kaster Chiropractic we want you to feel your very best. Though thought of primarily as a chiropractic office we also offer nutritional services and the basis of that is to make sure what you are eating is beneficial for you and not harmful. We do this with a food sensitivity and allergy panel.

When it comes back it will tell you what you are reacting to. These items will need to be cut from your diet for a time. They can eventually be tested and introduced back in to see how you do with them later as your health improves. Just because you are testing sensitive to something at the moment doesn’t mean you will be stuck not able to eat it for life. Your body just doesn’t want anymore of it right now and will heal far more efficiently without it.

What health symptoms can food allergies and sensitives cause? And what is the difference between an allergy and a sensitivity?

A true food allergy has a serious noticeable and sometimes even life-threatening reaction.

  • Hives, itching, rashes
  • Swelling of the face, lips, tongue, and even throat
  • Wheezing and trouble breathing
  • Dizziness or fainting

Food sensitivity symptoms are more subtle.

  • Stomach issues
  • Gas
  • Cramps
  • Bloating
  • Diarrhea
  • Headache
  • Heartburn
  • Nervousness
  • Irritability
  • Aches and pains
  • Brain fog

All allergies and sensitivities when eaten cause systemic inflammation. Inflammation can cause pain and a whole range of issues especially over time.

If you have any of these symptoms ongoing it might just be time to come and see us and find out the root cause. Once discovered we can get you on the correct path to health.
