The Invisible Illness – Be Kind. You Never Know What Someone Might Be Dealing With.

It is estimated that approximately 20% of the U.S. adult population is living with chronic pain.  That amounts to 65 million people who live with pain daily. That is a staggering number and far higher than it should be in this day and age of medical and healing advancements.

The thing is chronic conditions resulting in pain are often not visible to anyone else. Someone in pain may look just fine. They may even post pictures of them out places and smiling. It doesn’t mean they are ok. We just never know what someone is dealing with by simply looking at them.

A little kindness goes a long way.

Life is tough these days even if you are healthy. Now try adding to the daily stress and struggles a fight with your own body. People may have headaches that are unrelenting, body aches, bone pain, digestive problems, neck or back pain, problems walking, or standing for long periods of time, issues sitting, you honestly just don’t know.

Living in pain makes you overly sensitive to life.

If you reside in a constant state of being semi worn out. One mean thoughtless gesture can easily be a tipping point in a day and just as easily a smile or act of kindness can make one’s day.

Even though this rings true for all of us these days as we are tending to be stressed out and on edge dealing with pain on top of it can be just too much.
