Are You Experiencing Acute Back Pain?

Acute onset back pain means sudden onset. One minute there is nothing wrong and the next you have bent, lifted, twisted, or moved in just a slightly wrong way and your back is tweaked. Instant pain.

Acute back pain is usually short-lived and temporary, however, in some patients, it can develop into a chronic condition. A new study that was published by the medical journal known as “Spine” found that those with acute low back pain often would develop chronic symptoms.

Researchers and doctors worked with 605 acute low back pain patients. At the end of the 6 month period, only 13% still complained of having back issues. At the two year mark more of the patients had developed chronic pain in the back. Some did not have constant pain but instead went through good and bad phases.

The research is conclusive. You should never ignore any level of back pain or it could become chronic.

Chiropractic treatments combined with massage therapy, rest, ice, heat, and stress reduction all greatly helped improve the outcome for patients who experience back pain.
